Taillefer, my namesake, was William the Conqueror's juggler during the Battle of Hastings in 1066. As the story goes, he inspired the Norman troops as they faced the enemy lines with an epic poem of heroic deeds, prior to breaking the lines and charging: "The Song of Roland" is one of the oldest surviving major manuscripts of French literature. So I guess my fate as a storyteller was sealed long ago.
My work was first published in 1996, when I began drawing political and editorial cartoons for the Daily Tar Heel. Since then, I branched out into illustrations for magazines and children's books. I love interpreting concepts visually into drawings and take great pride in my work. My hope is to inspire people with timeless stories and beautiful images.
I was raised in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France, and am fluent in Italian, French, and Spanish (English is my mother tongue) which has given me a deep understanding of the nuances of interpreting ideas and translating concepts contextually.
